The Associazione per la Storia Economica announces a Call for Papers for its 1st Economic History Workshop, that will take place during the 3rd ASE Annual Meeting in Milan, on September 14-15 2018. Deadline: July 1st, 2018. Proposals should be addressed by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can send the paper as currently drafted, or a ca. 1,000-word summary.
Accepted papers will be notified by July 5th, and must be delivered in full form by 1st August.
The Workshop will feature two sessions (2-3 papers per session). Papers are circulated ahead of time, and read by the participants, who come to the workshop already armed with their comments and suggestions. The speaker is allowed only a brief introduction, and the floor is thrown open. The Workshop’s purpose is not to inform a passive audience, but to improve the papers of ASE’s members (not least the younger ones: we specifically encourage submissions by ABDs and recent PhDs). It follows that the papers must be work in progress, amenable to redrafting, and not already in final form, accepted for publication.
Note that a current ASE membership is required to attend the Annual Meeting.
